Kristin Katz, LCSW

Kristin Katz, LCSW, works with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families navigating complex emotional and relational challenges. Many of her clients come to therapy knowing that something isn't working but struggling to understand why, feeling stuck in difficult family dynamics, relationships, or long-standing patterns that haven't changed despite insight and effort.

As a Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider, Kristin has particular expertise in borderline, narcissistic, and other personality-related patterns and the complicated relationships that can develop around them. She works not only with individuals experiencing these difficulties, but also with partners, parents, and family members trying to understand what is happening in relationships that may feel confusing, volatile, or chronically painful.

Kristin works extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families across the lifespan. She sees children beginning at age 6 with a parent participating in treatment and works with families through adolescent and young-adult transitions, parenting challenges, family conflict, and difficult parent-adult child relationships. She is particularly comfortable working with complicated family systems in which the problem rarely belongs to just one person.

Her work also includes helping individuals and families navigate relational rupture, loss of trust, infidelity, and uncertainty about what comes next. Rather than beginning with a predetermined outcome, Kristin helps clients understand the patterns beneath the immediate problem, clarify what they need, and make thoughtful, self-respecting decisions.

Kristin's style is warm, direct, and highly engaged. Therapy with her is not simply a place to talk about what happened during the week. She helps clients look beneath the immediate problem, identify patterns that may be difficult to see, and translate insight into meaningful change.
