Yisroel Goodman, LCSW, works with individuals and couples navigating relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, and patterns that can leave people feeling stuck despite their efforts to make things better. His clients often come to therapy wanting stronger relationships while also struggling to understand or communicate what they need from the people closest to them.
Yisroel has a particular interest in working with men around relationships, emotional intimacy, identity, sexuality, and the expectations they may carry about who they are supposed to be. His work provides space to address concerns that can be difficult to talk about openly, including pornography or sexual behavior that is creating distress, secrecy, or conflict within a relationship.
He also works with neurodivergent adults, including autistic clients, and with couples in which differences in communication, emotional processing, or neurodivergence may be affecting the relationship. Rather than treating difference itself as the problem, Yisroel helps clients better understand one another and develop ways of communicating and connecting that work for their particular relationship.
His work with couples is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach that looks beneath recurring arguments and disconnection to understand the emotions, needs, and patterns driving them. Yisroel helps couples slow down difficult interactions, increase emotional safety, and develop a more secure and responsive connection.
Yisroel's style is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative. He works to create an environment in which clients can examine difficult issues without judgment while also being challenged to look more closely at patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
For clients for whom religion or spirituality is important, Yisroel is comfortable incorporating faith and religious values into therapy while respecting each client's individual beliefs and relationship to faith.
Yisroel accepts private pay and many insurance plans.
